Curses: mocking the enemy

In 1999, I went with two of my close friends to visit their family in Taiwan for 4 weeks. It was sweltering hot and I lost two dress sizes during that time! Besides the heat, I was also afraid I would be eating hidden cat and dog in the food!
However, not only did I come back having lost weight, but I also came back having lost the fiery passion I had for God just before I left for the holiday.

One hot day while sightseeing, we came across a few stalls in the market place. My friend had stopped to look at a little Buddha ornament and commented “how cool” it was. I picked it up and said, “Ugh, just another idiotic demon. What does he know?!” Unbeknownst to me, my arrogant attitude was my grave mistake.

All too often Christians develop a belief that nothing can harm us just because we are born again- this has no scriptural basis. Scripture clearly shows the opposite:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”  1 Peter 5: 8-9

“Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!’ But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.” Jude 1:9

“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you” Luke 10:20

After 40 days in the wilderness, Jesus did not ridicule Satan but said, “Away with you, Satan!” (Matthew 4:10)

This in no way means we are giving honour to Satan by not mocking him – what it means is that once we do mock him or other demons, we become careless by standing in our own power and we open ourselves to the sin of pride and lack of discipline. And ultimately a curse. God is just.

My mocking resulted in my relationship with God to become dry and unfruitful. Once I repented and broke the curse, I was back on track.
Knowing that the enemy has power is not glorifying him. He does have power! We need always be aware of that fact to not be ignorant of him and we can’t tread lightly either. We are to be obedient with our words and always stand in the power of Jesus Christ, not our own.

Curses through travel: Hawaii

Hawaii

I have never been to Hawaii. When I lived in the States, it was a toss-up of going either there or Cancun, and Cancun won out.
I had always thought the custom of giving leis to welcome visitors was such a lovely way to greet them, as they are so pretty. But the more I got to thinking about it, the more I thought that that type of action is usually a form of reverence or honour more than anything else. So I embarked on a history lesson.

As the lei is given as a form of affection, it is taken as offense should you refuse to accept it. This makes it very difficult on a visiting Christian.
When the Polynesians arrived, they made leis, and wore them, to honour their demon gods. They would place the leis around the statues of the gods to being good luck, for protection, prevent strife on the island and the hopes of preventing the gods’ demand for human sacrifice.
In addition, farmers used leis to give blessings from the gods on their crops, fishermen used them for safety and priests used them in healing ceremonies.
Many goddesses are associated with leis – they are offered to the goddess Pele and Hiiaka, mostly to banish evil spirits and honour the dead. The Maile leaf lei is especially worn to worship the gods.

Leis are place around the neck of visitors for all these same reasons; clearly leis are centered on Hawaii’s deep rooted belief in their gods and not as benign as a simple hello as everyone is led to believe.
This does not mean that you are cursed to place a flower in your hair or wear them. The difference lies if flowers are purposely constructed in the form of a lei, because their origin is demonic.

Accepting the lei around your neck is giving honour to their demon gods and therefore legal ground for all sorts of demonic spirits to attack you.
If you have ever been in this situation, I encourage you to break the curse of this over your life and be set free in Jesus’ name.

Curses through travel: France

I have never been to France but my husband had to go for business soon after we were married. I encouraged him to have a good time, but discouraged him from going into the pyramid that stands in front of the Louvre. The Louvre is one of the world’s largest museums, and a central landmark of Paris, France. There has been major controversy that the pyramid is cursed, arguing that it is built out of 666 panes of glass. As usual, the secular world has denied those claims, arguing that it is just superstition etc.

However, there are some points to consider and with prayer, the Holy Spirit can help us come to a decision.

The offices of I. M. Pei issued the original brochure of the design which highlighted, twice, the structure being comprised of 666 panes of glass. After the controversy spilled out, they then claimed that the pyramid actually contains 689 panes of glass.
But why was the original brochure stating 666 panes? You don’t just get that number out of thin air. I’m not one for interpreting numbers, but an extremely interesting take on these numbers surrounding this structure can be found here.

Also, what on earth is a pyramid, which is a Masonic capstone, doing sitting in front of what I think to be a rather classy building?

louvre
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Paris_July_2011-27a.jpg

What do the two even have to do with one another? In my opinion the pyramid ruins the look of the Louvre. It is out of place and downright ugly, if you ask me. The pyramid serves as the main entrance to the Louvre, and I have seen numerous times on travel sites and blogs that people complain that the staff do not alert you to other entrances; but instead keep people waiting in a 1 ½ hour queue into the pyramid. Why?

Seeing as pyramids are masonic, Christians should not be treading near them as they undoubtedly carry some sort of spirit or curse. I think there is something quite fishy about the place and I don’t trust the intentions. If they truly wanted to use 666 panes of glass, there would be only one reason – to ensure spirits inhabit the place and that everyone who passes through is cursed. Not only do curses bring destruction on your life, but they prevent people from either growing in the Lord, or coming to the truth of the gospel.
If you have entered the place, pray about it and if the Holy Spirit directs you, break the curse and rather be safe than sorry.
We Christians can’t take any chances nowadays! It’s just not worth it.

Pray for Gov. Rick Perry – The black magic of pro-abortionists

The pro-abortionists have unleashed a new horror! Besides “hailing Satan”, the evil that sprouts from their hearts is becoming more shocking by the day (Romans 1:28).
Houston seamstress, Michelle Sinched, has produced voodoo dolls in the likeness of Texas Governor Rick Perry who has passed a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

This woman calls herself “The Stitch Witch”. Nice. Quite fitting.
She said she came up with the idea because she wanted to “send a message and raise money for Planned Parenthood.” Send a message? More like demons!

Please take this seriously – voodoo dolls are extremely dangerous. Their origin lies solely in satanic practices. I am sure that there will be those who will literally burn the Rick Perry doll or traditionally stick pins into it. Even if they think it is a laugh – as with all voodoo dolls, demons are sent to the person the doll represents and they do inflict all sorts of destruction on that person!
Michelle has further stated, “What’s better than sticking pins in Gov. Goodhair or burning him at your own doll sized stake?”
She has caused people, both knowingly and unknowingly, to dabble in black magic. Rick Perry is in danger.

I urge everyone who reads this to please fervently pray for Gov. Rick Perry.
Pray that no weapon formed against him will prosper and that every tongue risen against him will be condemned! (Isaiah 54:17)
Pray that he will be surrounded with a shield of protection (Psalms 5:2)
Pray that all principalities and powers will be stopped dead in their tracks (Psalm 21:11)
Pray that all the power of the enemy is subdued by Christ Jesus (Luke 10:19)

Please pray for him now, and keep him, and all those fighting for the lives of unborn babies, in your prayer time with the Lord.

Fight the good fight!

Curses through travel: Statue of Liberty

New York City is the best place in the world. Boston is on par in my opinion. But there is something just so spectacularly special about NYC. I am yet to find a person who disagrees.

One of the first places one runs to when visiting NYC is the Statue of Liberty. Admittedly, in my mind’s eye I expected her head to be bigger. I found it rather cramped and found my own head getting knocked once or twice. Little did I know that more painful than that is that as soon as you go in, you are cursed. Hear me out – it boils down to history again.

Being a gift from France sounds all friendly and congenial and all but it went much deeper than just a gift of friendship. It originated from the Freemasons. When the statue reached US shores, the Freemasons conducted a Masonic ceremony/ritual over it. Once the base for the statue was laid, the Masonic World website states that “The Grand Master then struck three blows with the gavel and declared the stone duly laid. The elements of consecration, corn, wine and oil, were next presented by R.W.Brothers Lawrence, Vrooman and Ten Eyck.”

On the day it was dedicated, October 28, 1886, we can see that spirits were called down onto the statue: “Charles P. Stone, Grand Marshal, led the 20,000 paraders, including many Masonic Lodges, from 57th Street past President Crover Cleveland’s reviewing stand at Madison Square Park. [Masonic] Brother Henry C. Potter, Episcopal Bishop of New York, gave the Invocation
The definition of invocation is:
the act or an instance of invoking, especially an appeal to a higher power for assistance.”

“the act of conjuring up a spirit by incantation”
“a formula for conjuring, incantation”

Incantation means:
“a use of spells or verbal charms spoken or sung as a part of a ritual of magic; a written or recited formula of words designed to produce a particular effect” [emphasis mine]
And what effect is that? A curse!

The statue that is supposed to represent liberty and freedom, actually brings about bondage and destruction on every Christian’s life. I have no doubt that this was the true original intention of the Freemasons who came up with the idea of this so-called gift. Its spirits still reside there today.

Should you have entered this statue, I encourage you to break the curse of it over your life and be set free in Jesus mighty name!

Curses through travel: Brazil

I went with my family to Brazil in 1997. When we landed, it was so blistering hot we did not know what to do with ourselves. We had flown directly from New York which was life-threateningly cold, at least I thought so. We were dressed in winter clothing and I did not think to leave “summery” clothing on underneath. I ended up a melting sweat-ball.
Finally when we reached the hotel, we were greeted by friendly hosts who gave each guest a figa charm.

At the time my sister and I just laughed at it because it’s basically a hand showing the bird – the thumb between your forefinger and middle finger. What made us laugh was the memory of when we were small kids. The sign in Portuguese and Brazil means good luck, but at the same time in South Africa (not sure about other countries?) it is an insulting sign used to tell someone off in very bad language, if you get my drift. Same as showing the middle finger. So, the temptation as small kids was too much – we would approach our dad, who is Portuguese, and show him the sign while laughing saying, “Dad, we’re wishing you good luck!” Then run away laughing hysterically, knowing we couldn’t really get a hiding for “wishing him luck” from his own culture. The expression his face not knowing whether we should get punished or not made it even funnier and increased the mischief!

Sleeping that first night in Brazil was almost impossible. I could feel the presence of spirits and I saw a figure pass across the wall. Hiding under my blanket was making the heat worse! It was from then that I realised the importance of anointing and cleansing hotel rooms you stay in. You don’t know who slept there previously or ‘what’ they brought into the room.

I did not know the history of the figa at the time, all I knew was that it was supposed to bring good luck. But what I did know was that any figurines or charms that are supposed to bring luck are cursed, because they are embedded with spirits, usually through incantations or occultic prayers, in order to bring about this “luck”. I stupidly never got rid of it but I immediately did when I looked up its origin.

The hotel was giving them out as gifts probably because it is believed that the luck will only ‘activate’ if it is given as a gift. The hand gesture is supposed to represent a woman’s genitals and this is probably because it was believed to increase fertility, an ultimate worship to the fertility goddess. As the years went on, it was used as an amulet as protection against evil. Evil defending itself against evil. Right.

Is this something we need to be wearing or placed in our homes? Definitely not.
I have even seen Christians thinking that by wearing a cross it will ward off all evil. No. The Cross is a symbol. Only Jesus wards off evil.

Any item, souvenir or object you receive as a gift I highly encourage you to do a bit of research into it – Jesus and history are our best friends in these scenarios.

Should you find that the object could be a cursed object and exalting itself against the knowledge of God, break the curse over it and get rid of it! Even if you break the curse it does not mean it should still hang around. That object was intentionally “blessed” for the services of Satan, where the culprits realised it or not and will continue to reap destruction in your life.

Curses through travel: Egypt

In the nineties, Egyptian décor become the number one fad in South Africa. Almost every home was decorated with its paraphernalia. Although very pretty, Egyptian artifacts, decorations, objects or paintings carry with it extremely strong spirits and curses.

Egyptians made no secret about the curses they liked to place on just about anything.
For one, they placed curses on the tombs of Pharaohs to protect them against thieves, commonly known as ‘the curse of the pharaohs’. The purpose of the curse was to bring death and destruction on any one who opened the tomb, went in, looked at or took the artifacts. One curse said, “Cursed be those who disturb the rest of a Pharaoh. They that shall break the seal of this tomb shall meet death by a disease that no doctor can diagnose” and the tomb of Khentika Ikhekhi’s curse says, “As for all men who shall enter this my tomb… there will be judgment… an end shall be made for him… I shall seize his neck like a bird… I shall cast the fear of myself into him.” Those are some serious incantations!
What does this tell us about museums holding these things? About twenty people who excavated King Tut’s tomb died within two years of serious illnesses or accidents!

Some people have said to me, “But come on, those curses were placed thousands of years ago. They won’t have any effect now.” Demons are not human. They finish what they start. When they have a job, they stick to it. Humans change in their thinking and perceptions, but Satan never forgets! Whatever demons are placed at the site of a curse stays there forever to carry out its goal of destruction. The fact that we forget is only to their advantage!

Have you recently seen the statue of that ancient Egyptian relic in Manchester Museum that is turning in full circles all by itself? It is a statue of an ancient Egyptian Neb Senu who made an offering of the statuette to the deity Osiris, god of the dead, to guarantee his afterlife. Ancient Egypt believed that if the mummy is destroyed then the statuette can act as vessel for the spirit. Well, it is acting up alright! But as usual, scientists have jumped in trying to explain the phenomenon away. I saw it on Fox News – that thing turns! It is not due to people walking or vibrations – the relic is cursed. I can bet your bottom dollar that every employee there is cursed, as well as the employee who solely holds the key to the glass case! Interesting that this statue’s moving coincides with the unrest happening in Egypt at the moment!

Do you have any Egyptian relics in your home? If they’re stuck in a box in a garage does not mean out of sight out of ‘play’ –if it is on your property it will negatively affect you. Break the curse of death and destruction on you in Jesus name and throw them away!

Curses: where angels fear to tread and touch!

I love to travel! The only continent I have not been to yet is Australia. I have a huge world map and a key ring placed on each country I have been to.

However, we can get quite a few curses from our travels I have noticed, especially in countries of eastern culture influence. Why? We can tread on unholy ground and what is the one thing we always do? Buy a souvenir and bring it home. There it sits on your shelf or mantel piece looking all pretty for the world to see where you’ve been. But some of these souvenirs harbour their own curses and bring destruction onto you or your home, or both.
The reason for this is that many souvenirs, and areas, are blessed by these eastern religions, which gives demons, and the demon gods these cultures worship, the legal ground to inhabit the souvenir and area. Also, some are dedicated to the services of Satan.
When I went to Taiwan for a month with my Taiwanese friend, he told me quite proudly that they don’t fear anything because the “gods of Taiwan” have been ‘brought down’ to protect Taiwan’s borders and itself as a country. I thought, ‘oh boy!’ Those are demonic beings that have legal ground to oppress anyone coming into the country!

Looking at scripture, we can see how God forbade touching of unclean things. We are not to associate with darkness, and bringing unclean things into our homes is doing just that! The best example lies in the book of Joshua. When the walls of Jericho came down, God warned them to not take anything from Jericho for themselves.

But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel.” Joshua 7:1

Then, they went up to Ai and 36 men were killed! They were distraught and Joshua cried out to God not understanding what had gone wrong. Sounds like us? “God, why did you let this happen to me? I don’t understand what’s going on!” God explained this very well to Joshua and said,

So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you. Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.” Joshua 7:10-13

God specifically commanded them to not take anything from Jericho because it was cursed and sinful, and they did not listen.

God makes it clear to keep ourselves and homes clean, sanctified and holy:

And he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.” Numbers 16:26

“Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 2 Cor 6:17

In the Book of Acts, those who accepted Jesus Christ did not hesitate to rid of their occultist practices and objects!

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totalled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.Acts 19:18-20

Some of the most obvious objects we should not have in our homes are statues of demon gods such as Buddha or Egyptian Pharaohs, eastern gods and some African art – some are clearly representations of demon gods and we should not have any of them in our homes or on our possession. I see often how tourists got nuts for the African art sold here. Some are very pretty, but a lot of them are carvings of their demon gods and some are so blatantly obvious they’re demonic they make your hair stand up. We are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Also, almost anything from Asian countries is risky – in my travels there I learnt how many objects are cursed, and most some for the destruction against Christians!
The easiest way to tell is to learn about the culture and history you are visiting. It is my prayer that the thought “Well, if I don’t believe it, it won’t happen to me!” will be eradicated from the hearts and minds of every Christian out there. I hear that so often. There is no way Satan thinks, “Oh well, let me give him a break – he doesn’t believe it, so I will leave him be.” Not a chance.

My next few posts will be focused on the types of curses you can get specifically on objects you bring into your home and the unholy ground we walk on – a lot of it will be on different countries, mostly the ones I have traveled to and learnt from.

Curses – legal ground and how to break them

Curses seem to be more covert in other parts of the world. I could be wrong but they seem to be more of a secret in their plan and execution. Yet, here in Africa, Satan’s agents are rather open about it like it’s nothing. It is part of their daily conversation as if talking about the sky being blue. It’s almost as if a few witches sit around drinking tea, while one of them pipe up, “So anyway, I cursed Anne today.” Being so open about it does have its advantages though, because this way we are quicker to fight back.

My mother received a text message on Saturday from an unknown person who told her he has gone to a Sangoma (Zulu word for witchdoctor) to curse and control her family. See- open! It just so happens that everything has been going wrong in my dad’s business recently – employees are making fatal mistakes and jobs are not getting done like they should. My dad commented that it feels as if “someone is trying to torment him.” Ever felt like that? That’s the symptom of a curse. Torment, confusion about what is happening and destruction. My mom suspects it is one of the new employees who have received two written warnings for consistent late coming. That’s Africa for you.
The purpose of any curse is to destroy, harm or bring ruin and even death to a person. Curses are not only sent to Christians, but to the unsaved too.
A curse is the purpose, the actual thing someone wants done to a person, while the demon is the sending mechanism.
Now not everything that goes wrong is a curse. We live in a fallen world, and trials and temptations will come to purify, grow and strengthen us. But trials and temptations are not meant to stay forever – curses do, until they’re broken. Also, when things go beyond the realm of coincidences, you should seek the Lord’s guidance on whether it is a curse, or just life.

You can receive curses from two reasons.
1. you have given Satan the legal ground to attack and curse you, through sin.
2. you are cursed through no fault or sin of your own. So, you have not given him legal ground to attack, but he does, usually by his agents.

I will go into more detail of what constitutes legal ground with each post. Basically it is sin. God is a very merciful God, yet just. He is just with us, but He is also just with Satan’s kingdom. It is in no way giving glory to Satan, but rules are rules, and God plays by them, and Heaven is run very much on a legal system. Christians fall into the trap very easily of assuming that we are protected no matter what we do. It is not so, and Satan feeds on that lie! We are responsible for our actions, and we cannot just walk around doing whatever we please.

Let me highlight an example, before going into the how to’s of breaking a curse.

I know this woman who has three spirit guides. I went to school with her and have known her since I was 11. I’m sure I will post more about her in the future – we are not friends but her spirit guides detest me for speaking to her about Jesus and have attacked me more than once! She told us this story and is rather proud of it, mind you. Many years ago she had a fight with her boyfriend. She became irate and said to him as he was leaving her house that she was going to put a curse on him to have a major car accident. She did. Ten minutes down the road, he had a major car accident. That is no coincidence – she literally performed a curse and the demons associated with the curse brought it to pass.
Don’t assume that there always has to be an intricate incantation performed with candles and other gross looking satanic paraphernalia in order for a curse to work. That does take place, but curses can come out of words!

If you were the person getting into that car, this is how you would have broken the curse after she spoke those words over you:

“I break that curse placed on me in the name of Jesus Christ! I command all demons associated with that curse to leave me and my car at once in Jesus’ name!”
That’s it. Jesus was not kidding when He said His yoke is light. It really is! There is no ceremony to perform or fancy words to say– it really is as simple as that! Praise God!

Lets’ say you actually gave Satan the legal ground (you sinned) to attack or curse you. This is how you would break it:

“Father, I confess that ______ as sin and repent of it. Forgive me for _____. I now break that curse placed on me in the name of Jesus Christ! I command all demons associated with that curse to leave me at once in Jesus’ name!”

You must take as faith that the curse is broken – anything more you try to do than that will be of your own efforts. You cannot break it yourself – it must be done in Jesus’ name. Jesus said He gave us his authority in Luke 10:19. He’s saying “Here – it’s My authority to trample over evil. Take it and use it!”

But what if you cannot remember what you did that possibly brought on the curse? Maybe it was so long ago? Ask God! He will tell you! He’s not sitting on his throne saying, “Haha! Take a guess!” He is a God that liberates and sets His people free! He wants those chains off of His people! The Holy Spirit once woke me up at 3am to make me write down a long lost sin I had forgotten about so that I did not forget about it in the morning when I woke up. Heaven loves 3am I’ve noticed.

As I write more posts about different types of curses, you can keep in remembrance how to break them, should you identify somewhere that you have a curse placed on you.
I pray that the God of comfort leads you into all truth these next few weeks.

Curses

Have you ever felt your relationship with the Lord just does not get anywhere? You’re putting in the time to pray, fellow-shipping with Him, being obedient but it’s remaining stagnant, inconsistent and you even battle to read the Bible? Or there’s a recurring illness you have, or bouts of ‘bad luck’, unsolved problems and you’re praying and praying but it is just not improving? Have you seen this in your own life, or people you know?
I have a pressing from the Lord to write about curses over the next few weeks. Yes, curses. I have prayed for a few weeks if this really is from Him and I feel it is.

I think my resisting is partly to not really wanting to write about it. I have heard many comments from Christians who refuse to believe curses exist or that Christians can be affected by them, such as “If I don’t believe it, it won’t happen” (that one irks me) or “But I’m under Jesus’ blood now, Christians can’t get cursed.” I’m afraid we can.
Jesus came to fulfill the law but not abolish it (Matt 5:17) so all the spiritual principles you see in the Old Testament still apply today. We can see a lot of information about curses in the Old Testament, but Jesus defeated Satan, has given us His authority to trample every scorpion, to break every curse and to be set free from every curse!

Christianity is militant. It’s governed by love but it is a war between good and evil. Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war! We even have our own armour (Ephesians 6)!
It won’t be much of a war if Satan was unable to touch us in any way. But how can we fight a war we don’t even know exists? We have no excuse! In Leviticus 5:17 God emphatically stated, “If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity.” Just because you don’t know about it, or refuse to believe it exists does not mean you are automatically protected!

“Therefore my people have gone into captivity,
Because they have no knowledge;
Their honorable men are famished,
And their multitude dried up with thirst”
(Isaiah 5:13)

“For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense,
But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.”
(Eccl 7:12)

People, the aim is to stop us. To stop being effective in God’s kingdom. Satan needs to do whatever is necessary in order to ensure people do not receive salvation, hinder our walk with God, not be a blessing to others, not grow the church etc. He is literally on the warpath. The Bible says we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11), yet God also says that his people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Keeping knowledge hidden about curses is Satan’s great weapon because they are so very easy to place and very effective unfortunately.

The definition of a curse according to Mirriam Webster’s Dictionary is:

–      a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon one
–      evil or misfortune that comes as if in response to imprecation or as retribution
–      a cause of great harm or misfortune : torment
–      to use profanely insolent language against: blaspheme
–      to call upon divine or supernatural power to send injury upon
–      to bring great evil upon

You will see as I post, how those definitions fit into the different types of curses.

But the good news is, even though most of Satan’s schemes are clandestine, most curses are quite easy to identify and to break! Because Jesus’ power and authority is so absolute, complete and above all things. We can never discern or break them without Jesus. It is futile. I have been on the receiving end of curses myself and knowledge about curses and how to break them has helped me tremendously in removing those stumbling blocks from my walk with the Lord!
Living in Africa, witchcraft is in full swing here and I have sadly seen many people cursed, yet many who have broken them in Jesus’ name and set free from such a horribly stifling bondage.

I am certain I will face much opposition with these next posts, but I’m biting the bullet as I really feel this is what the Lord is leading me to do. I encourage you to pray over each post so the Lord can give you understanding. What I offer you these next few weeks is what the Lord has taught me in my own experiences and what Scripture has to say about it. My prayer is that no one is left in bondage anymore! There is no time left, we need to be prepared and walk all over the enemy and stop being done in by his schemes.
