Fishers of Men Craft

I always say it is never too early to start teaching your kids about Christ!
I spoke Scripture over Jordan when she was already in the womb. People like to use the science of classical music over their unborn, I used the Word of God. Can’t go wrong there, right!

I love the things that come out of children’s mouths, they can make you laugh! My four year old makes me laugh at least once a day with the things she says.
I was reading Jordan a Bible story last night from her kiddies Bible, about the lepers that Jesus healed and only one came back to thank Him. It’s full of big bright pictures and the text is very short, making it very age appropriate.
So after telling her the story and how we must always thank Lord Jesus for all we have and when He makes us better, she was looking at the picture of Jesus standing with the leper, and knowing that Jesus is well alive and in Heaven, she blurted out, “Now, how did Jesus get on the ground?” 😀 Cute little moments like that are to be treasured, they grow up too fast!

In any way, Jordan has been learning about being fishers of men at school and came home with a new song about it. So I decided to make a game out of it, with fishing. She loved it and played all day!

Cut out some fishies and get them to help you colour them in, all sorts of bright lovely colours. On some of the fish, I coloured them over a cheese grater to give it that scaled effect.

??????????
Colour in an ocean on an A4 size paper (Jordan decided a “Red Sea” was the way to go!)
I then stapled each little fish to make it magnetic.
Make a fishing rod out of a simple skewer and attach some string with a magnet on the end of the string. I used a simple magnet from the back of a fridge magnet and I had a fish bone magnet and let Jordan use whichever one she preferred. She actually preferred the smaller magnet, which is great because this helps with their hand-eye coordination.

??????????

I explained the concept to Jordan as simply as possible, that Jesus wants us to help people and that we must tell our family and friends about Jesus so that they can love Him, because only then will we get to go to Heaven.

Fish away!
